The curtain comes up tonight on Oscar's big night. The opening is a montage of academy award winning actors and others on a street. Dead and alive and the camera pulls back and it is Oscar city.
The opening is all the past hosts saying no they do not want to host. Here comes John to do his monologue. The routine is starting out a little slow. They warmed up to him towards the end but it really did not get going too much. At one point he was begging for laughs. He went to a short film that was ok.
First up to present is Nicole Kidman. Blond and in white. Best supporting actor...George Clooney for Syriana...Matt Dillion for crash....Paul Giamatti for Cinderella Man....Jake Gillinhall for Broke Back Mt....William Hurt for History of Violence....Winner is....George Clooney wins for Syrianna..Could the upset be in. Got up and said I guess I am not winning for director..Other than that the speech was forgetful.
Back from break and John told a joke about getting laid and that did not go over big. Ben Stiller comes out for best visual effects. King Kong won. Reese Whitherspoon up to present best animated feature. Moving Castle, Tim Burton for Corpse Bride, Wallace and Grommit...winner is Wallace and Grommitt...Naomi Watts introducing Dolly Parton whi is trapped in time. She has not age in years.She is singing her oscar nominated song for Transamerica..
Next to present are Luke and Owen Wilson. Live Action Short. The Runaway, Cashback, the Last Farm, Our time is up, and six Shooter.......Winner is Six Shooter, ..The most annoying thing about the show is the fact that they do not stop playing the music in the background.. Then they have Chicken Little and another duck make the present the best Animated short to The moon and the sun or something like that. I was rooting for badgered.

Back from commercial and Lauren Bacall is out to introduce.. She had problems walking out and lost her place in reading, a number of times and it became quite uncomfortable, especially with her lip smacking sound as well.
