Fire Fighters To Be Honored

Each year, the National Fire Fighters Service marks the commencement of fire prevention week by honoring both professional and volunteer firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty.

This year, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in Emmittsburgh, MD, will be honoring 106 firefighters from around the United States that gave their lives while protecting others.

On October 8, 2006, the Borough of Morris Plains will mark the observance by lowering the flag to half staff in honor of Vincent J. McGuiness, a local volunteer firefighter who died while answering a fire call in 1992.

In addition to lowering the flag, the Firefighters Foundation is requesting that all fire departments throughout the United States sound their sirens at noon to honor all fallen fire fighters.

Above is what I wrote...Here is what or how they published it in the papers.

2006 Def Comedy Jam

In a word.. Host sucks and is not funny. Talent invited on in the 30 minute format have not even made me chuckle. It is actually funny to see how bad the talent is. Funny how Mr Simmons comes out at the end. He used to come out after some of the greatest comedy ever told. Tonight he came out, shook hands with the mainstream devil and went about his ways.

So sad that they killed our comedy expressions

America's Next Top Model

As hard as I tried to watch the new show Jericho, it was slow. I then found my old favorite ANTM. Trya picked her her final 13 but only has 11 beds in the house. Once again I do not agree with her final picks but I will go with it. She picked two twins that I do not see as pretty as all.
Drama in the house with Monique but they have their first Tyra mail. They are doing model stereotypes. Monique up first but she was 2D..Megg up and she had to be a drug addict. She did ok. Eugena she is very pretty and next to Megan who was diva. She did a nice job. Anchal (Indian) was supposed to be into herself... Christian was model turned actress... She did a bad job posing. Brooke was a back stabber....Was ok. AJ was casting couch.. Did a great job.. Jada was plastic girl...She gave only one pose.. The twins were up and they are bulimic girls. Amanda up next and she does not know how to pose. Melrose up next and she was a diva.. She delayed the shoot and did a shit job. ..Here we go first girl to cry...She is balling. Girls back at the house and the Tyra mail is there letting them know tomorrow is the first vote off.

Back from break....Girls walk in and Tyra is there to greet them. Tyra is telling them what they can win and I have to side out here and say what a great night it is..Cool..
Judges are Nigel, Twiggy and Mr Jay. Megan up first. Best shot looked good. Monique it was ok. Caridee Judges said she did a good job with the personality but her poses not great. Anchel...She cried no idea how good the pic was. Megg up next and they hated her dress. They liked hers a little..Amanda...Nice shot but they said it was the only one out of all of them..Michelle..her shot did come out great for what she was. Melrose up and they said she had no emotions. and they said she was late..Brooke up and they did not like it...Eugena looked great for me but judges torn...AJ no emotion...Judges liked her photo but she was blah..Christian..hair issues...Judges did not like..Jada up next. She is a pretty girl..not a great shot..

Coming back from who is safe....The judges are debating..They do not like Jada..They do not like both twins. Megg they think they can work on. They are done cutting on all of them and now the serious Tyra is up front...Picture makes them safe..they are

Michelle... Caridee, AJ..Megan...Anchel, Megg, Monique, Amanda, Jada, Eugena, Brooke...leaving Christian and Melrose...should get rid of Melrose...here we go last photo is...Melrose is safe and I do not agree with it..Poor Christian..She is so much prettier. Tyra hugging a crying Christian.. This is why the world is not right....

My Picture of the Day

Suzie, Corey, and John

Suzie attended her first political press conference today. Although she is an independent, she likes to hear what the other two parties are up to. Today's press conference was about Gov. Corzine's new initiative to spend millions to keep pedestrian's safe. He is taking a section of the Ironbound as a test and making it safe through engineering, enforcement, and education. I am not sure what that means?

Mayor Booker was there and he gave many an interview. I wanted to go shake his hand but did not want to bring Suzie so close as to have the secret service jump the two of us. It would be too traumatic for Suzie since she is just getting over her abandonment issues while I was on vacation.

New York City

NYC continued. This was the view off my balcony before we headed out into the NY harbor.

Of course we know this building as the empire state.

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.. Sun sets on the lady liberty

New York Pictures

I recently went away on a cruise for a few days and I wanted to post some pictures of the different things that I saw. I am breaking them down by city and it appears that I can only post about four at a time. The following are the pics of NYC as I left or came home

Sunday Night-Three Day Weekend

Friday and Saturday were pretty much a wash out during this holiday weekend since Ernesto came to town. However my friend CD came to town as well from the far off land of CA. The land of Hollywood.

We decided to go hang out. Now the weather was so fantastic here in the hood that night. What would make the night perfect would be to go hang out for a drink, a bite, and a good conversation.

When CD from CA got here, I told her that we were going to walk over to a little place called Sagres. Now Sagres means a few things. It is a port in Portugual, a beer, and a shipping school for tall ships. However for tonight it was just two friends catching up. The reason why I picked Sagres was for one reason. They open up the front doors of the place and have chairs on the sidewalk. I went there since I knew the wind would be blowing and I wanted to bring little Suzie Q.

We walked down this alley to get to the place. What was strange that although it has was cooler that night than the last few weeks, I did not understand why the residents of the alley were warming their hands around garbage can bonfires. Never the less we scored some crack and then arrived at the cafe. We found a seat and I asked if it were ok that Suzie hang. Everyone at the place said no problem. They asked what we wanted to drink and we ordered a pitcher of sangri. Suzie ordered a greyhound (Greygoose and grapefruit). The waiter her water instead in a cup and place it for her to drink. She complained the whole night and I noticed she did not leave a tip.

The night went on and the people loved Suzie. She brought many a strange people to our table to discuss their own personal dog stories as they stroked her and told her how pretty and great she was.

Ernesto Enters the Brick City

Friday night early market close. Home to see the animals early which they love. Friend stops over for a bit and the rest of the night is easy.

Summertime and the livin's easy Bradley's on the microphone with Ras-MG All the people in the dance will agree thatwe're well qualified torepresentthe LBC

The following are shots I took as Ernesto began to come into the chocolate city. Two are as the rain begins to drizzle. The winds prior were fantastic. In Newark as you watch the trees blow it is complimented by the litter blowing around too so it takes on a much more dramatic effect. In tornado alley it may be a few cows blowing around, In Newark it is a few 40's and a Ho. I kid. Two of the photos are of the skreets and the other a flower before the storm. The weather is 64 and the air is flowing. If the world had this temp all year long there would be some mighty happy peeps....
