Not much going on tonight. Came home from work, had some dinner and turned on the TV. My buddy Bob called tonight to let me know that he was stuck in traffic due to an accident on the highway. By the sounds of it some poor soul is dead on the highway. So I settled in and began to watch the 9 11 commission report again on PBS. I have always been an independent voter and proud that I am never really swayed by the two party system. However, this year I am forced to vote a party line. As much as I love throwing away my vote on Ross and Ralph, I am forced this year by this administration to vote for Kerry. I could go into great lengths about how smug and arrogant this administration is but I just don't feel like it anymore. Thomas Jefferson once wrote that the duty of Government is three things. Protect the borders, deliver the mail, and stay out of the lives of its citizens. Bush only accomplished one during his term and really had not much to do with that. He had his chance and on the coat tails of 9 11 sympathy chose to slam through a radical right wing agenda rather than help a nation truly heal. He chose to cover up and lie about everything. I threw a link up for you to read from the Suntimes.
Anyway, to close out the day and prepare for tomorrow's remembrance, I have the following thoughts. Don't download the XP service patch 2. It screws everything up
