The night opens up with our host in a tux jacket with jeans. He is so stylish. After booting two last week we are down to 10 females tonight and then will be down to 8 by Thursday night. Simon said based on last weeks performance he would have given himself a 10 for last week. First up:
Kristine McPhee..Chick looks like Sandra Bullock a bit. Singing a slow song. I thought they said it was Stevie Nicks...Very slow ballad in tune until she got a bit louder in the middle she became pitchy and you see that she does nt have a super strong voice but overall an 8 for sing and 7 for song. 15 score to open the night. Randy said was not her best, Paula said blah blah brilliant. Simon said it was forgettable.
Next up is Kinnick Sky-Birch and Wilson song. Sista singing country. I did not know the first song. I don't know this song either. I think this girl does have a good voice but I do not think this is a good song for her. More shouting than singing. 7 and 6 sing and song. 13. Judges did not like it that much. Simon said it was a theme parkish.
Lisa Tucker up next...When I had you..Not sure what song this is. This girl really has a nice voice. She has set the mark for tonight...9 for singing and 8 for songmaking her a 17. Paula said she is amazing just like everyone else.
Next up is Melissa McGee singing Reba. I am not sure what the theme was tonight but it must have something to do with songs that no one has ever heard before. This girl is ok but rather one dimensional. The back up singers are doing a great job tonight. She did better than last week. Give her about an 8 and 7..15 total score. Randy loved it, Paula said Blah blah.Simon said the truth.
Heather Cox..Singing Hero by Mariah. Could be good. Start delayed. Problem with a song like this is that you have to really do a super job with it. She is doing the slow part and it is good. Now we get to the hard part. She ain't no Mariah sang it in a low register and held a strong chord for her but not like the song. SHe knows her range but not that great in terms of what she had to do. sing 7 and song 7..14 score.Paula just said what I typed before. That song could have made the show. Simon said for the first time Paula and Randy were right. Said it was pointless..Over all consensus was not great.
Brenna is up next. I like her hair but she is so obnoxious. Finally a second song I know. Donna Summer. Lets Dance. This sounds like it is a cabaret routine. Some parts were good but ruined by her ultra poses and face plants for the camera..Creepy.. 6 and 7 for a 13. Paula said bad. Randy said she is like Simon. Simon pretty much told her she is off the show tonight.
Next up Paris Bennet. Picked her from the start. See how she does. Did you ever know that you were my hero. Brave choice. What a strong voice from such a young girl. Worthy of an ovation. 10 and 9 for the night. 19 for the night.. Randy and Paula and Simon kind of did not like it. I disagree.
Ayla Brown..Singing something..All the songs do sound the same tonight. Strong in parts and week in others and pitchy at the middle break. Not too bad..Give it an 8 and 7..score of 15. For some reason they love her. Paula said bla bla great. Randy liked the story. Simon said she is mechanical.
Two left to go at the 915 hr. Kelly Pickler us up next. Lets give them something to talk about Not as raw as the original. Solid performance and country folk will like her music. She has the country look. 8 and 8 for a solid 16. Paula is strange this year.
Last up is Mandissa...Singing Cry by Faith Hill. Pitchy atfirst in the low register. Girl owns the higher registers. I do not like the song but good for her. 9 and 9 for an 18.

American Idol-Night two, The Guys
Well it is night two of the final 24. Right now I am stuck on a conference call with Korea and it is painful. Each question takes 10 minutes and my fear is that I will miss the start of the show. It 808 pm and I am missing the show. I keep muting but then they call on me and I sound dumb
Up first for the boys is Patrick....Just to hold you by Melissa..Starts off week. Too safe of a song not really reaching..Little flat towards middle...Give him a 7 sing and 7 song. Score of 14. Judges gave him an average rating. Pretty much like me.
Next up is David Radford,, the crooner, This guy is a freak Crazy little thing called love...Looked so cheezy....shaky, voice is not good. Horrible 5 sing and 5 song. Score of 10
First two out of the box should have stayed in. Two not so David Raddford should have the name Badford by tomorrow..
Back from commercial...Next up is Bucky who is a good ole boy. He must have a criminal record. He is singing Simple Man by Lynard Skinnard. Not doing a bad job. Good song for him. Song choice for him is a 8 and singing although not challenging is the best so far. Got to give him an 8...Score of 16..Leader so far...
Up next is Will.. The guys once again are mostly Fruity. Will is no exception..He is going to sing I want you back by the Jackson 5... Has his ripped jeans...This is just a bad bar version of a J5 song. Sing 6 and 5 song choice. Score of 11..Just cheezy again..Simon was the reality check again. The other two are wrong.
Next up is Sway..Gay name. Lets see how he does..He has a fedora on which means he is hokie. Reasons by EW and Fire. Ouch first notes hurt. Singing in falsetto..Very pitchy for most of the song. A couple of good parts and he can hit some high parts but kinda of lame. 6 sing 6 song...12 song. Once again Simon is the only one that is honest with these peeps. Said it was Pimpy..And what a freaky song that his parents said to him
Next up is Chris. I think this is going to be one of the better guys. Doing Wanted Dead or Alive by Jon Bon Jovi. Wow...Cheeezy song but it shows you how good this guys voice is. He could front a band like Staind. Leader so far...9 and 9 sing song Score of 18. They may say it was too easy.Randy said it was hot. Paula just loves him bla bla... Simon said good choice of song. Hearing someone for the first time tonight that is good. God I am so good at this.
Next up is Kevin. A little mouseof a kid. Strange. One last cry by Brian Mcknight. Pitchy at first. I do not now know what to say about this one. He did ok but got lost in the song. The band being a bully. Was not bad but it was like watching a baby sing a love song. Disturbing. Score is about 12?? Randy and Paula loved him. They compliment him but not the singing. Once again Simon is right. Paula thinks that everyone is the greatest singer of all time.
Next up is the only black dude Gideon. They have him smiling like Eddie Murphy as Buckwheat...Otay. Singing Shout. What is up with his intro to the song...You know you make me want shout. Not a bad job though. Better than most tonight.. 7.5 and song 7.5..Give him a 15. Solid. Paula said Bla Bla Bla. Once again Simon is right. Said his smile bothers him. I am so good at this. Does that make me gay?
One thing they have done this year is let the other singers on the bridge. The show gets creepier every year.
Next up is Elliot. He looks like an amish rock star. If you really love me by Stevie. His ears are freaky. He did a really good job. 8 and 9..Giving him a 17. Very impressed by him. They all loved him. Funny thing is I think he banged one of the female idols. He has a hicky on his neck and it is fresh from last night.
Next up is Bobby. Singing Copa Cabana by Barry. Ouch this is bad..Like Jackie Gleason singing to his girl. 5 and 5. Score is a 10. One word freaky. Paula said bla bla bla and Randy said bla bla...Simon said it was a nightmare. Once again no one gives him a chance to score.
Next up is Ace. Had the voice and the looks during the early part. Father Figure. strange but good choice. His voice is ok. 7.5 and 8 for song. 15.5. Paula said bla bla..she may be dating him.
Last up is Taylor Hicks. I hope he does good because I would love to see this guy go through. I think he has a lot of soul. He looks older than his years but you have to love him. Singing Leavon..Great choice song for him. Here we go. I have to say I loved it and he makes you smile and he makes you feel good. 9 and 9..18 score.

American Idol 2006-Ladies First
Well with the three weeks of perliminary behind us, we start off tonight with the first 12 girls. Now I happen to think there were many better singing girls than guys but they got rid of some of them to make it equal opportunity. As always I will judge the performance and the song choice on a scale of 1-10. I hope there are no Bo Bice's amongst the crowd. We are now ready to roll.
The show opens with dear old Ryan teling us the obvious. I cannot believe this puppet head gets so much. But America loves him since he is so beautiful. Little dig agains the Britnum twins..He gets into a little banter with Simon and he accused Paula of being more critical. Randy says a guy will win. They go into a short about the girls struggle to get there. Most of the trouble for some of them was getting a ride to the venue. Others than that once picked they were taken care of by the idol. The the short takes us to our first of many commercial breaks tonight.
Here we go. First up... Mandisa... Singing Never by Heart...May be a bad choice... Has a good trained voice. Bad choice of song but she is doing a good job..First out of the box tonight..No nerves... Give her an 8.5 for sing, and a 6 for song. She is now the benchmark. Judges are agreed that she did a good job. Simon said see her to the finals due to her personality. 14.5
Next up Kelly Pickler from NC. Her daddy is in Jail and her mom ran off with a bad man. Singing How Far fro McBride. Country song, has the idol look. Has the problems in lowers registers but her high register is as good as Carrie Underwood. Little pitchy at the end. A little yelly...7.5 sing but for her good song choice 7. Simon said exactly what I typed above. 14.5
Next up is Becky O'Donohue from Dobbs Ferry NY. I used to canoe up there. Because the night??? What is up with that. Starting off good. Too many eye movements. A little flat. Her voice is not as strong as the first two. Picked an easy song though so it does not sound that bad. Bit flat again. Sing 6 and song 6 giving her a 12. Randy said you do not have to have the best voice???I thought this was a singing contest. Paul said she loves her. Said her notes were off. Simon said her voice was a 6...look above and see my score for her. That is how good I am at judging this. I am so gay. She may be Becky
Next up Aila Brown...Once again another girl that got in but not that great of a singer. Reflections by Christina Agulara.. She is behind in the song..Started off slow..Not hitting the marks. Better in the middle pitchy at the end but not too bad. Nice control at the end. Sing 7.5 and 7 song. 14.5. Randy said she did it good, Paula agreed as well. Simon said you are a hard worker. Said she has a limit. And she met it with a little bit more emotion than all the other times.
Next up Paris Bennett.... Midnight Train to Georgia...She is an early pick for me. She even looks like Gladys. Wow, Just as good as the original.. Sing 9 and song 10 for her... Winner so far for the night. 19 Nice energy and great singer. All judges agree how great she was. BOy I can pick them.. That may be your next idol depending if anyone can catch her. Her voice does sound like it can be subject to being tired.
Next up is Stevie Scott who sings opera. She is singing To where you are? An opera song. AI first. Josh Grobin. Not sure what to make of it. SOunds muffled Flat I think she never found her range. Took the show down and stopped it. Not sure if it was good or bad. Forgettable. 6 sing and 5 song..Giving her an 11. Randy did not like, Paula said, well I am not sure what Paula said. Simon said she messed it up. She told them she can bring it but they said not tonight...they are right..She just lied to America. Another commercial. The are banging commercials everywhere.
Next up is Brenna from NY. She is a nudge. Singing Steveie Wonder Sunshine of my life. Very pitchy at the start. Not a great rendition. Better at the end but kind of like a wedding singer. 6.5 sing 6 song giving her a 12.5. Judges are not too sold on her. Simon said that it was really bad. Said it was a hotel performance. She is going to be one annoying person.
Heather Cox...Hehehe COx, the said Cox. From NC and she is going to sing When you tell me that you love me from last years AI. Ouch bad start so off key. Middle is ok but not that great. Held one chord near the end but then the next was off.. Sing 7 and song 6..13 not that great. Judges are not hapy with the performance..Simon said it was forgettable. He is right..No one will remember.
Another Commerical..Melissa Mcghee is going to sing When the lights go down by Faith Hill...Oh God I hate country. Not a great start. She too fast for the music. Made up until the end, got a little yelly..Sang good but not a song to make people jump up....8 sing and 7 song giving her about a 15. Simon likes the way she sings but said she is lifeless. She will move on tonight.
Next up is Lisa Tucker.. A super hot girl, 16 and a good voice..Dark horse. I am changing by Jeniffer Holiday.. Old Song..This is tricky. Controlled voice and good lungs. Mayble not the greatest song for her but she is singing it. Pitch and tone are good. Too mature for her. Not as strong in the end. Slow...Sing 9 and song 9..Challenging factor here..Gives her an 18. Randy and Paula liked her. Simon said she made the older girls look ordinary. Once again the judges agree with me. Two more girls to come..We are going to a break.
Next up Kinnick Sky..She has the name and from where I lived in GA. She is a hot sista. Get here by Alita Adams.. She has the looks. Song started too soon for her caught her off guard. Her voice is very rich. I do not like this version but it did let her show case her range. She has a strong voice. 9 on the voice and an 8 on the version. 17 Good song choice but not a great version. Paula said it was a great job. Simon said her performance was cabaret. Said she is being over shadowed. She should get through I hope cause I think she did a good job.
Last up is Kathy Mcphee.. She will sing...Since I fell for you by Babs. Starts out safe and good.. Song picks up a bit. I have to say that I did not think she would be that good but she did a great job. 9 and 8 for sing and song. Giving her a 17. Randy and Paula loved it. Simon said she was the best tonight of four good singers tonight. She could be a dark horse too.

2006 Grammys-1 Hour Late
Missed the first hour due to American Idol. When I tuned in U2 won for best rock album. Back from break and Paul McCartney is singing one of his songs. I have no idea what song it is. Ya know if I was in charge of this show, I would come out at the start and say tonight we are just going to take the hundreds of millions we were going to waste here tonight and give it to the poor in the US. Do we really need to see Madonna shake her ass at the age 90, or would you rather see a young poor child eat. Apparently, we would rather see Madonna shake her old ass. Paul is now going to sing Helter Skelter. How great is this...For those of us that remember the horrible summer of Charles Manson we are now brought back once again. But here is the biggest faux pas...U2 has covered this song on rattle and hum.. Put them together on this and let us all enjoy. Two bad choices for songs.
Black Eyed Peas and HeatherLove giving an award... BEP gave a props to themselves for winning an award. Best Male Performance...R and B.. F. Jamie Fox, John Legend, Mario, Usher, and Stevie Wonder. Winner John Legend. Thank God its not Jaime... Bigger Talent then him out there and for some reason they want him to win everything.. You got the oscar you begged for...Let it be... Now that would have been a better song for Paul Mc. John Legend is making his boring speech and the music came up. Usually I feel bad when that happens but I actually think that was warranted. Go to commercial
Back from commercial and Mariah is telling a story about how music has touched her life. Yeah me too. Wow she is actually singing the song and not a lip psynch. Thank God this not an american idol..She would have been sent home. I think it was peppered with the recorded version. She is off key for the lower progressions and then hits the harder chords and scales with perfection. There is something rotten in the state of Denmark. Same thing with her second song. In addition the camera man was having a hard time keeping focus..Bad camera work or big Mariah fan... You be the judge. Once again like all white R&B singers, bring out the black choir....We love it.
Terry Hatcher and some dude came out. Best Pop vocal Album.... Fiona Apple.., Kelly clarkson, Sheryl Crow, Paul McCartney, Gwen Staphani..Has to be Gwen or Kelly...Winner is...Kelly Clarkson...No brainer... I will say it once again..I picked her to be the winner 5 years ago on one of the first episodes of American Idol. Well deserved. Huge talent but only her and Gwen are pop. The rest are just old. Pop back in the 60s and 70s.
Jenna Elfman is up to introduce since she has a show on CBS..The show sucks by the way. Faith Hill and Keith Urban to perform. Eh it was ok.. So far I have only seen a few performances. No stand outs. Now Chris Brown and Santana. Best Rap Collaberation.. Ciarra and Missing, Destiny Chinld, Kanye, Jz Lincoln Par, and Gwen..Should be JZ and Lincoln..And they won. That has to one of the best collaberations..White alternative with Black Rap.
Dave Chapelle up next to introduce. He goofed on himself which was funny..Introducing...Sly Stone They were big in the day..John Lefend, Joss Stone and Hunt to sing his songs???? Where is Sly..Fantasia and some other dude with Tats. Marron five and Ciarra now doing sly...Ciarra Now to the BEPs..I am sorry is this a tribute or a massacre. This has to be the worst and I think I see Randy from American Idol playing base... What is this???... Ciarra looked wierd, like a lady. Now Aerosmith... They forgot to turn their mics on though so you could not hear them...Here comes sly with a mohawk. Production is so over the top it sucks..Nothing seems to be working righ. Now it is just people dancing with music and voices cutting in and out. I think Sly is dying since he came out for a few minutes did hardly anything and then left after few minutes.... Boy that was strange.
Back from break with LL Cool J..Nice words for Robert Johnson.. Now he is introducing Jay Z and Lincoln Park...I gotta watch this because this will be the best performance of the night. Tried something new with an old Beatle song...And out comes PaulM..Problems with the sound and I would have rather them stay with Numb, but overall the best of the night.
Tom Hanks now to introduce and they have him up on a stilt. I like how they keep thanking people whose lives sucked and made great music that everyone ripped off. But we say thank you now....How nice. Tom now introducing Bruce Springsteen who is going to sing. I got my finger on the trigger..Devils and Dust.. I walked the Dog and now I come back and U2 won again.
Kanye West to perform. Jaime and Kanye are going to perform. She take the ...I think that is the only thing Jaime can sing. So now you have Jaime up there to sing his part and it a tape. I think Jaime Fox is a scam. Kanye is jumping around too much and dancing that you cannot understand his rap...Ok so Jaime is not doing anything just like on his special..So now they are doing drums and stepping but no singing and rapping.. Now into touch the sky. Wow Jaime is now a hype man and they do the touch the sky start but do not do anything with the song. I have never seen an entertainer spend so much time not doing his song. That really sucked. .. Sting and Cheryl crow doing record of the year....Mariah, Green Day, Gwen, Kanye..Should go to Green Day....Which it did.
So it is now 10 48 pm and they just announced 12 more acts to performs between now and 11 which means it is going long. I may have to bail at this hour because the utils of satisfaction from the show are diminishing and the concept of sleep is turning me on....

Superbowl Sunday and a Super Dog
Early this morning Suzie (New Dog) and I got up and went for a nice walk. After I got my morning coffee my cousin called to see if I wanted to bring the little one up to their mini farm in Whitehouse station to meet Lilly and Velevet. The drive was made and as has been the cycle, Suzie got car sick again on the way up in her crate. I bring a change of blankets for her so she is fresh on the ride back. I hope she out grows it. But once up there it was quiet and there was a lot of land to explore. Her new cousins Velevet and Lilly were there to shower her with licks and kisses but Suzie was not used to them. Although there were balls and sticks being thrown Suzie wanted to just smell the world and not be invloved with her new cousins. She got to go into an old barn and sniff the walls and ground. Then she went into the fields to the pond and then was able to use her super senses to track deer and other critters into the woods. After overloading her senses in the fields she went to the porch where there were treats for the good dogs and sticks for everyone to chew on. While her cousins wrestled, she chose to engage in politics and discussions of career changes. No wonder she was so scared.
Back at home she is walking about the house and laying in her spot. She is getting very good at walking up the stairs but if you move she is sure to shadow your movements. The only problem is that she is so afraid to leave you that you trip over her. I hope that as she gets more comfortable she knows that she will not be abandoned. One really nice thing to point out is that the cats actually want to meet her now and feel like they cannot. Every time they make an attempt Suzie hides. They look at me like "don't look at me we are trying" The two of us are watching the superbowl as I type. Of course she is rooting for the Hawks. They are the Underdog. She always roots for the underdog.
