Early this morning Suzie (New Dog) and I got up and went for a nice walk. After I got my morning coffee my cousin called to see if I wanted to bring the little one up to their mini farm in Whitehouse station to meet Lilly and Velevet. The drive was made and as has been the cycle, Suzie got car sick again on the way up in her crate. I bring a change of blankets for her so she is fresh on the ride back. I hope she out grows it. But once up there it was quiet and there was a lot of land to explore. Her new cousins Velevet and Lilly were there to shower her with licks and kisses but Suzie was not used to them. Although there were balls and sticks being thrown Suzie wanted to just smell the world and not be invloved with her new cousins. She got to go into an old barn and sniff the walls and ground. Then she went into the fields to the pond and then was able to use her super senses to track deer and other critters into the woods. After overloading her senses in the fields she went to the porch where there were treats for the good dogs and sticks for everyone to chew on. While her cousins wrestled, she chose to engage in politics and discussions of career changes. No wonder she was so scared.
Back at home she is walking about the house and laying in her spot. She is getting very good at walking up the stairs but if you move she is sure to shadow your movements. The only problem is that she is so afraid to leave you that you trip over her. I hope that as she gets more comfortable she knows that she will not be abandoned. One really nice thing to point out is that the cats actually want to meet her now and feel like they cannot. Every time they make an attempt Suzie hides. They look at me like "don't look at me we are trying" The two of us are watching the superbowl as I type. Of course she is rooting for the Hawks. They are the Underdog. She always roots for the underdog.
