American Idol Girls-Top 10 Girls

The night opens up with our host in a tux jacket with jeans. He is so stylish. After booting two last week we are down to 10 females tonight and then will be down to 8 by Thursday night. Simon said based on last weeks performance he would have given himself a 10 for last week. First up:

Kristine McPhee..Chick looks like Sandra Bullock a bit. Singing a slow song. I thought they said it was Stevie Nicks...Very slow ballad in tune until she got a bit louder in the middle she became pitchy and you see that she does nt have a super strong voice but overall an 8 for sing and 7 for song. 15 score to open the night. Randy said was not her best, Paula said blah blah brilliant. Simon said it was forgettable.

Next up is Kinnick Sky-Birch and Wilson song. Sista singing country. I did not know the first song. I don't know this song either. I think this girl does have a good voice but I do not think this is a good song for her. More shouting than singing. 7 and 6 sing and song. 13. Judges did not like it that much. Simon said it was a theme parkish.

Lisa Tucker up next...When I had you..Not sure what song this is. This girl really has a nice voice. She has set the mark for tonight...9 for singing and 8 for songmaking her a 17. Paula said she is amazing just like everyone else.

Next up is Melissa McGee singing Reba. I am not sure what the theme was tonight but it must have something to do with songs that no one has ever heard before. This girl is ok but rather one dimensional. The back up singers are doing a great job tonight. She did better than last week. Give her about an 8 and 7..15 total score. Randy loved it, Paula said Blah blah.Simon said the truth.

Heather Cox..Singing Hero by Mariah. Could be good. Start delayed. Problem with a song like this is that you have to really do a super job with it. She is doing the slow part and it is good. Now we get to the hard part. She ain't no Mariah sang it in a low register and held a strong chord for her but not like the song. SHe knows her range but not that great in terms of what she had to do. sing 7 and song 7..14 score.Paula just said what I typed before. That song could have made the show. Simon said for the first time Paula and Randy were right. Said it was pointless..Over all consensus was not great.

Brenna is up next. I like her hair but she is so obnoxious. Finally a second song I know. Donna Summer. Lets Dance. This sounds like it is a cabaret routine. Some parts were good but ruined by her ultra poses and face plants for the camera..Creepy.. 6 and 7 for a 13. Paula said bad. Randy said she is like Simon. Simon pretty much told her she is off the show tonight.

Next up Paris Bennet. Picked her from the start. See how she does. Did you ever know that you were my hero. Brave choice. What a strong voice from such a young girl. Worthy of an ovation. 10 and 9 for the night. 19 for the night.. Randy and Paula and Simon kind of did not like it. I disagree.

Ayla Brown..Singing something..All the songs do sound the same tonight. Strong in parts and week in others and pitchy at the middle break. Not too bad..Give it an 8 and 7..score of 15. For some reason they love her. Paula said bla bla great. Randy liked the story. Simon said she is mechanical.

Two left to go at the 915 hr. Kelly Pickler us up next. Lets give them something to talk about Not as raw as the original. Solid performance and country folk will like her music. She has the country look. 8 and 8 for a solid 16. Paula is strange this year.

Last up is Mandissa...Singing Cry by Faith Hill. Pitchy atfirst in the low register. Girl owns the higher registers. I do not like the song but good for her. 9 and 9 for an 18.
